The move back to Vista has been much tougher and rougher that I expected in the first place.
After updating my system for the past day and a half (yes, internet speeds here in the Philippines is still laughable, especially the one available for household consumption), I've managed to install Vista SP2 in my T61. However, there's a very very big problem I just can't sweep under the rug.
Every time I boot my T61, the TVT FIngerprint Software stops working. Actually, there's a notice a minute or two after logging into Vista. In fact, after booting up the system and I move into the log on screen, there's no picture of the fingerprint logging in option anymore; it's a blank box next to my PC pic. I've been trying to system restore my system for God knows how many times yet I can't seem to put this troubling saga to a close.
It's really been frustrating for me to come back to Vista. I've been pushed to this circumstance by the lack of affordable upgrade Win 7 discs retailing here in Manila. That's why I had no choice but to go back to Vista since I still have the time (i.e., semestral break) to tinker with my laptop without having to sacrifice productivity (Actually, I have a deadline which I can't still finish as of this writing because of the endless updating and THIS intermittent problem with my fingerprint software).
Any suggestions, especially from our generous and gracious moderators? I've even tried fully uninstalling the TVT FP software and downgrade yet it still won't work. Every time I do that, I still am presented with a window telling me that TVT FIngerprint Software has stopped working.
Thanks a lot!
