Is this normal on a Flexview panel?

#1 Post by Sleepless » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:51 pm

I'm staring at an T60p Flexview panel (P/N 42T0344, PC Doctor reports a hardware ID of LEN4046, manufactured week 1 of 2006). The desktop background is solid blue.
Now there's a white Notepad window on the screen. The desktop areas above above and below the window (from the window title all the way to the top, and then all the way to the bottom) are a bit brighter. As I move the window around, it is obvious that the columns that share the Notepad window become a tad brighter that the others.
Is this the way it should be, or is something wrong with this panel / inverter?

Sounds like something is wrong. I'd suspect the LCD cable first.

Something similar has been reported in the past with IDTech Flexview panels on T4x... Search the forum for "shadowing"... But I haven't heard about this effect on the T60 LG/BOE-Hydis panels.
