I take it you're using the ThinkPad version of RecordNow? Most burning software and I don't use Lenovo's software, allow you to burn an image, which is what you need to do. If you want to use something else ImgBurn works pretty good.

These settings are for making music CD's. Depending on your software a creation of a disk from the downloaded ISO file hopefully should work.
Which recording software are you using?

Why would you even risk a bad burn? Just use the provided windows utility to do it.
But if you're bent on doing it this way, I agree that imgburn will be your best bet and at the slowest possible speed.

Re: Burning Lenovo T61 - BIOS Update (ISO) to a CD ?
FredGarvin,
Actually, I recently removed Recordnow! and replaced it with Nero Burning Rom (Nero 9) and UltraISO (which also has a Built-In Burner).
vinuneuro,
The reason, I am going the BIOS Update route of the ISO Version of the BIOS Update, instead of the Windows Utility version, is that I was told by many that ISO to CD was the safest method. They said that if you use the Windows update utiltiy version and should windows hang while running the bios update that your motherboard bios hardware is toasted and that they know of several pepole that this had happened to. They also said that it is *not* a good idea to use Lenovo system update to apply a BIOS update for the same basic reason.
Additional Question:
P.S. Lenovo BIOS Update doc says to disconnect pc from docking station before applying BIOS update. Should I also, unplug the USB cable to my USB Printer, before performing the BIOS Update ??

You don't need to remove USB printers, etc. BTW, I use system update to flash BIOS at least 3 or 4 times a week.
