T60 LCD panel replacement
I have bought a new panel for my T60 1952-YEU (CTO) but it doesn't work.
Graphic card is an Intel GMA950. Panel is 14.1.
My previous panel was an XGA IDTech:
Model: N141XC-L01 (Rev. C1)
P/N: 13N7052
FRU: 13N7053
The new panel is an SXGA Samsung:
Model: LTN141P4-L02
P/N: 11P8347
FRU: 11P8348
When pc boot I see the panel power up but no images are shown.
The system also boot up and when I connect an ext monitor I it but the default is still black (backlight on).
I think that the inverter works fine but the flat cable not.
Can you help me?
Thanks,
Stefano

Re: T60 LCD panel replacement
11P8348 is a T4x screen. It will not work in a T60 and may have burned out a fuse on your motherboard. Don't try starting again.

There is no way to adapt this panel to my board?
Thanks,

I don't have one of those FRUs to look at, but many of the T4x panels don't have the eeprom,, Some of the T4x panels have the same manufacturer's part number as T60 panels, but don't work because they are a different revision.

There is no way to "cook" the bios to enable this panel to work?richk wrote:I don't have one of those FRUs to look at, but many of the T4x panels don't have the eeprom,, Some of the T4x panels have the same manufacturer's part number as T60 panels, but don't work because they are a different revision.

Re: T60 LCD panel replacement
The BIOS on the T60 doesn't hold EDIDs at all, they're stored in the ROM on the monitor itself.

Also, that screen is an SXGA+ LCD, meant for T4x and R5x models.

Re: T60 LCD panel replacement
Take a look at this post by Troels:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 15#p388315
This is from a sicky thread in the T6x forum.
Your problem is that either the contents of the EDID chip on your screen are not accepted by the T60 BIOS or there are no EDID chips on the screen at all. If the chips are there, you could build or buy an EEPROM programming circuit and program the chip yourself (if you're savvy enough). Otherwise you should probably sell this display and buy a proper T60 one.
