Sorry I'm short on time so I didn't get a chance to search more.

Have a crack screen T61 on wxga 1280x800(?) lcd. I figure if im fixing it ill up it to wxga+ (1440x900, made lots of swaps on dells and had no problems). I read that some panel are not compatible. Basically I pull the part number off the service manual and found this guy on ebay

+ New T61 R61 R61i LTN141WD-L05 WXGA+ (1440x900) LCD Panel 42T0412 - ebay 290306802561

Going from wxga to wxga+, is there any pin difference or it should all fit ? I have the old panel removed, it is a samsung, I left the part number at home.

Its similar to the LTN141 (xxx) dont remember the rest..

The only difference is the panel. Cable and inverter are the same

I have a 4:3 14" T61 (8898-6DG) with a cracked XGA screen and ordered the following SXGA+ to replace it :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0318660196 . (Apparently price just went up from 124 to 400$)

Panel arrived but doesn't seem compatible: connector is not in the same position (1" off), and when I boot up, the image on the screen is just a bunch of vertical colored lines.
I want to return it, but seller claims the mistake is mine because I can't just go from XGA to SXGA+. I'm pretty sure I can, and the connector should also be in the same place. Is there any way he can be right in this?

Don't buy compatible screens, only actual OEM part numbers.

He's in the wrong, but the odds of convincing him of that are slim, if you tell him you're putting it in an XGA machine.

So, tell him that you also tried it in an SXGA+ machine, and it didn't work.

Hmm, blue, red and grey vertical lines everywhere on the display?
If that's the case, standard timings in the EDID are either wrong or completely missing.
Who's the manufacturer/model no. of the LCD you received?
