I got a new 6 cell battery from the Lenovo outlet earlier this year for my T61p (8889). Recently, it's started giving the error balloon "Not a genuine Lenovo battery". Of course, it is a genuine Lenovo battery (and still in excellent condition).

Has anyone had a similar exerience with Lenovo or non-Lenovo batteries?

Well, got a response from that "other forum" that appears to be the issue:

Appears to be a glitch in the version of Power Manager I'm using.
