Any update on System Beep Volume?

Hi folks,

Poking around my wife's T60 (1953 E4U) and am bugged by the system beep volume which is very loud. Is there any way to tone it down without muting it completely? I've searched and read some threads that suggest it's all or nothing, but most are three years old so I'm coming back here in hopes of a solution having been developed since then.

Any feedback appreciated. I've just brought it up to Windows 7 but since it's the system beep I don't think it's an OS thing. Poked around the BIOS without success.

Marc

AFAIK you can just lower the volume, or mute it completely, using the keyboard-buttons.
The alternative is in the BIOS, but only ON or OFF.

Yes, you can easly shoot up the beeb sound. Just go to the device manager. Click on view, show hidden devices and devices by connexions. The third device must be the beeb sound. Right click on Beeb and choose non activ, or something like that. I try to translate, cause I have a french system. That's all.

Hope that's help you. Excuse my bad english.
