Hi all,
i own a t60 1952-CTO ( SXGA+).
Few days ago, LCD starts to show a light pink color (from bottom fading to top) during boot.
After few seconds, this light pink color disapperas.
I remember that was happened something similar to my R50p ...
and a new Inverter did not solve the problem...
I suppose i must prepare myself to change LCD...
Here i've find the supported LCD model:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 62784.html
that are:
Samsung 13N7059
BOE-Hydis 13N7061
TMD 13N7063
Which is the better for my T60?
It's enough to change LCD, or i need to change also the inverter?
Looking for LCD replacemenet in ebay, i've find:
http://cgi.ebay.it/14-1-SXGA-LCD-Screen ... 4cec88ca49
http://cgi.ebay.it/14-1-SXGA-LCD-Screen ... 2c51e67356
Could one of these be ok?
Thanks!
Regards
M

It is just the panel if it is pink. I prefer the BOE or Toshiba, but it is a personal matter.

If you can find someone to replace the CCFL (backlight) inside the bottom of the LCD, you'll be fine.
It can take days, weeks, months, or even years, before the panel stays pink, so there shouldn't be an immediate panic.

Thanks for replies.
I'll try to buy a CCFL: i see that is available a soldered version and a unsoldered one.
I could gain experience in that with my R50P and with another old Compaq Presario... both with the same problem!
I remember i've read a thread about CCFL change (in this forum), i'll start from that.

Hi,
i've called Lenovo support few minutes ago.
They only ask few questions to understand if the problem was related to monitor or video card.
The monitor will be replaced
Now i'm waiting for a call / visit by a lenovo technician - i hope before warranty expiring.
I think i'll renew warranty, if it covers also that kind of issue...

You should renew the warranty BEFORE it expires. It covers all the hardware (except liquid spills and dropping it).
If you wait till afterward, you either cannot renew, or at a much higher price.

Hi all,
this morning an IBM technician has gone to change my T60 LCD
The new one is a Samsung (sorry richk

).
At the end, we try the new monitor and...
there's a dead pixel!!!!
It in the right bottom of lcd:
Technician told me that if i want i could call again IBM/Lenovo and change the LCD for this issue, but sincerely for me it's ok...
What do you think?
I think also that i will now renew warranty (it's about 190 $ / year)..
Happy new year!
Regards
M

I think that if you are going to have a stuck pixel, that is just about the best spot to have one. Personally I'd ignore it. Also you need 4 or 5 stuck pixels to qualify for an LCD replacement.

A new warranty is $190/year?
Does that sound expensive?
