External LCD monitor for T60 : suggests wanted!

Hi all,
i'd like to buy an external monitor to use with my T60.

Considering that i'd like to work at the same (or nearly) resolution - that is a 1400x1050 in a 14'', i've found:
- ASUS VW193D: 19'', wide, 1440x900
- Q.Bell QBL.22WN: 22'', wide, 1680x1050
(and others quite similar) that are quite cheap.

My laptop screen is far from me about 39 cm (~15 in.).
I'll put this new lcd far from me about 60 cm (~ 24 in.).

How can i evaluate which solution is better?
Bigger resolution, or quite smaller than my T60?
And what about the size (19/22/.. inch.) of lcd?

Any suggest?
Thanks!
Regards
M

I think it's good to try to match the vertical resolution, and the perceived pixel size. For the first parameter, 1680x1050 would be best, though 1920x1080 is very close and gives you a lot more horizontal res. For the second parameter, ideally you want an external LCD whose pixel density is that of your T60 multiplied by 15/24, i.e. 124.11 DPI x 15/24 = 77.57 DPI, so that both monitors would appear to have pixels of the exact same size. The lowest-DPI 1680x1050 LCD I am aware of is 22", which gives 90.05 DPI. If you want to get closer to 77.57 DPI, 27" 1920x1080 has the lowest DPI among LCDs that I know of, specifically 81.59. If I were you, I would get an 27" 1920x1080 HDTV so that the monitor can function as a TV as well.

The Excel I referred to in this thread may be helpful to you.
