T61 do not recharges battery when is on docking station

Hello,

I have T61 (14,1 widescreen 1200 x 800, glare:(, ], CPU Core 2 Duo 7300, 2 MB RAM), model 7661 - E26.

I also have essential port replicator - 2505, P/N 26R9064

When the notebook is on the docking station it do not charge the battery.

The battery is still with the same load, do not discharge when I am working on it, but doesn`t want to charge up.

Please give me an advice about this.
I am using Windows XP, but the same problem occurred under Ubuntu 9.04. The bios is updated.
The battery is 9 cells with ~ 87% of the original capacity - at full load works 3 hours at wifi.

What is the charge level in the battery? If you choose the option "maximize battery life", it will not charge if level is above 75%.

I assume that your laptop charges fine while off the dock, yes?

Try powering off the laptop while off the dock, remove the battery, hit the power switch 10 times and then hold down for about 15-30 seconds. Put battery back in and try on dock again.

If it still does not charge, make sure that the dock and the part that mates to is from the bottom of the laptop are clean.

My advice would be to try to find someone else with a dock compatible with your T61 to see if the problem is with your dock or possibly with the systemboard connector.

I just a couple minutes ago helped a fellow employee with T61p which could not connect to the network in a stable manner using a dock. Providing a different dock seems to have fixed his network connectivity problem.

It didn`t work but I will try other Thinkpad on this dock to see where is the problem. Its a good idea (logical:))
