Hi

I have a T60 from my office and is not allowed to install anything on the t60.

However it is a wast of computer not to use it at home, and thus I would like to use it for linux. As I am not allowd to install anything in the internal hdd, VMware and linux on a second partition on the internal hdd is ruled out.

Thus my options are USB harddisk, harddisk via PCMCIA or a second harddisk installed in the ultrabay on the docking station.

Now the question is which will be fastest?

I assume that the Ultrabay solution will be the fastest.

Thank you in advance.

i have not tried usb or PCMCIA but the ultrabay works great for me, i just press F12 at boot up and have the other os running, the only thing is if they have not disabled this feature in your bios, hope this helps

It shure does. And the F12 option is not disabled. Ultrabay must be faster than the USB option which although USB2 is too slow
