OCZ Vertex SSD doesn't fit in HDD Caddy
Anyone else have this problem? I have a 250GB OCZ SSD. It's just 1/10th of a hair wider than a conventional hard drive, and it won't sit flat in the hard drive caddy.

not vertex, but I've used OCZ solid in T60 just fine.

Not sure which machine you have, but did you try not using the rubber bumpers, and placing a cardboard shim under the drive so it would mate with the socket?Rofflesaurrr wrote:Anyone else have this problem? It won't even sit in the caddy right.

It distorts it. I'm about to just get a 500GB Seagate and use the OCZ for something else. Other people seem to have some serious reliability issues with SSDs.

I'm using the same drive in a X61s and had a similar problem. I did manage to wedge it in there. Try putting both edges of the drive into the caddy a once instead of one at a time. I only managed to secure three screws though. You could also leave out the caddy and just use the rubber bumpers with a piece of electrical tape to replace the pull. Its already in its own enclosure, so I don't see any problems.
Been in daily use now for about 6 months with no problems at all, so I've been happy with reliability.
