Buying a used T60 - Hints?

I am considering to buy a used T60 1951-A47 that the Lenovo site says has the following specs:
Product: ThinkPad T60 1951-A47 [change]
Operating system: All [change]
Original description: Based on 1951-43U: T1300(1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro
The price is 280 Euros (340 US dollar)
Is the price worth the machine? I will check the condition obviously before to buy.
Is there any reason to choose/avoid this model or any known issue?
I currently have two T41p, with the same SVGA+ screen that I like, but I would like to substitute one of them due to very dim and going reddish LCD and the fan going noisy over the time.
Thanks in advance.

That's a good price. You will love the hires screen, which is easy to adjust for text size, etc. thanks to Windows versatility.
The cooling fan can be irritating, but I use TPFancontrol freeware to mitigate that annoyance, and make it tolerable.
T60s just love Windows 7. I would add another gig or two of ram to yours, which is easy to do. If you want to go all bonkers, install a solid state hard drive, and be prepared to be thrilled and addicted by the speed.
I own three T60s with W7 and SSDs. One is 64 bit. I Like them a bunch!

For your information, i paid €400 for the T61 in my signature (7665-Y4F)
But that was without Windows 7, and with a 160GB HDD instead of 320GB

That's a very interesting T60...high-end apart from a Core Solo CPU. You should get quite some battery time with it.
I'd say go for it. Not too many machines beat T60 when it comes to reliability. Of course, make sure it's in a good shape and working properly...
Good luck.

I recently purchased a T60 with approximately the same configuration for a similar price. If the machine is in good same its certainly a good deal. No problems with the cooling fan on mine. I hardly know when its working.

I have contacted the owner yesterday, and she came with one good news and one bad.
The good is that she was working for IBM and the laptop has been controlled by them at the end of December.. .
The bad is that the actual price was 350 Euro not 280 (an error of the announcement)
Uhm...
