seires of beeps and nothing happens?

I know this has been covered but can not find ireset memory,tried the static discharge with power switch as well.it is giving me one beep,three beeps,three beeps nd finally one beep- fan keeps runing but that is it?I know it is trying to tell me what is wrong.it is a t30.thanks in advance!

Have you recently added a new stick of RAM?

hi thanks for the welcome and the quick reply!I just picked up the t30 at a yardsale knowing it had problems, I wish I had a spare set of ram but do not,it had just one bank of memory of 512 installed, tried taking in and out to see if bad contact mightbe the problem.I had a t21 at one time and loved it because of them being so much easier than most laptops to work on.thanks,Mark

Try booting it with the memory removed. If it still beeps & won't POST, then you may have a dead motherboard or CPU. I had a CPU poop out on my T60p once.

well,no memmory still beeps, if I move the memory to the back bank no beeps but still nothing?is there not a glossery for the beep codes or something?thanks for all the help but looks like it is leading where I was afried it would go!
