Motherboard "self-made" Exchange (make 1 T60 with 2 units)

Hello

My first post here.
I own a T60 (2007-???) serie and someone gave me yesterday a larger T60 (2007-77G) serie laptop.

One the first one, the LCD screen is broken.
One the second one, the HDD controller on the mainboard seems dead.

So the idea came.
Use parts of the 2 units to make a single "T60" unit.
But the problem is that these two different T60 units have chassis which are not of the same size...
Thus the LCD panel/bezel il larger (let say 14 mm) than the other T60 chassis.

But the other parts (MotherBoard, WiFi card, heatfan) seem to have the same size.
Thus I first made a weird assembly : put the LCD larger screen on the "small" T60 chassis.
Ok, this is ugly (I'll put a picture) but this seems easier that disassembling the motherboard from the "large" chassis".
The main drawback is that I MUST NOT touch the screen and above all NOT trying to flip it as only one LCD hinge is screwed to the chassis.

I was wondering :
- Can I buy somewhere the real LCD monitor for my T60 laptop rather than this ugly assembly ?
- Can I buy somewhere and additional storage bay to put another disk drive ?
- I can put two WiFi cards inside (there is a free place inside). Is there an utility to put 2 Wifi Cards ?

Welcome to the forum!

Move the working motherboard to the chassis that has a good LCD and you're done.

And no, you can't run two wireless cards from the same board.

You can buy an ultrabay slim SATA adapter and replace your media drive with a hard disk.

I've just seen that one the "older" T60 the CPU is just more powerful.
I think I'm going to exchange CPU units thanks to the IBM document ^^
