Overclocking a T60p

#1 Post by Turboqueef » Thu Feb 11, 2010 8:45 pm

Good day,

I am interested in overclocking my T60p... I understand the risks ..

I am struggling to understand how to access hidden bios settings (if they exist) to overclock with.

I tried the Clockgen software and it does not recognize my chipset.

Has anyone overclocked their T60p... if so, can you post the process you used.

Thanks
Jeff B

the T60 & T60p really can only be "overclocked" via increasing the CPU multipliers, so upgrading to a T7200, T7400, or T7600 CPU is how you do it, and it is a little pricey for those last two!

The T7600G has an unlocked multiplier, but I don't know if it requires BIOS support.

Thanks for the feedback!! I did upgrade the CPU from T2500 to T7600 and it is working very well. I was hoping to squeak a little more out of it by overclocking the 7600.

Thanks for the info and link... I do have a T7600 but not sure if it is a "G" Would this detail be displayed in CPU-Z's processor name field?

Thanks

You might want to have a quick look at this thread, as it states that the T60p cannot be overclocked, even when using the T7600G.

A good new: X61 successfully overclocked: T7100@2653Mhz !!!
link here and here
So, there will be a big chance that T60 and T61 can be overclocked.
Compaq 386SX > AST 486SX-25 > TP 390E > Compaq N410C > T41 2373-9U5 > T42p 2378-RVU UXGA 1.7@2.45GHz > T60p UXGA modded to T61 8889-ACG with T8300 OCed to 3.2Ghz@1.20V, undervolted to 1.6Ghz@0.775v, Nvidia NVS-140M undervolted to 0.9v, PCI-E ASPM enabled, 11W power in idle.
