TrackPoint Questions

#1 Post by taichi » Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:22 pm

Having happily used the TrackPoint for years with my A21P I have some questions about scrolling with the T60P.

After enabling TrackPoint advanced features in the control panel (Vista 32 Ultimate), I selected scrolling. Unlike my experience with the A21P, where depressing the left mouse key along with pressure on the TrackPoint would show the little scrolling icon, nothing seems to happen on my system. If I hold down the left mouse key and pull on the TrackPoint it will annoyingly drag down the webpage, highlighting everything.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Taichi
Still thrilled with my new/old T60P.

Are you using the middle button to help with the scrolling? You press that one and the trackpoint and you should be able to scroll around.

Thanks.

Unfortunately the use of the middle button didn't seem to work.

Make sure the latest Ultranav driver is installed.

In the Ultranav settings in the mouse properties you should be able to assign the middle mouse button to scrolling. Hold it down while moving the trackpoint and it should scroll.

Couldn't see the tab for selecting scrolling buttons, so I figured that must be part of the Ultranav Driver Update.

Downloaded the driver package, but received a warning that the previous Synaptics Driver should be uninstalled before installing new driver. The message said that the device may not operate correctly if the driver is overwritten.

This is unlike some of the other driver updates which seem to tolerate being overwritten.
