System Updater Issue?

4 weeks ago, i installed Windows 7 on a T60p, and all i had to do was install System Updater 4 and it automatically downloaded and installed all the latest drivers and apps - everything works great.

This week, i installed Windows 7 on a T60, followed by System Updater 4, and all it installs are some of the basic things like Toolbox, Device Experience, etc. I've manually installed the UltraNav driver and software, but SU4 only recognizes the UltraNav driver, and i cannot press Fn-F8 to get the UltraNave configuration screen. In fact, none of the Fn-Fx keys work at all.

Is there something amiss with System Updater / Lennovo's server? I remember a year ago they were going to stop supporting it...

many thanks,

OK, so after applying Windows Updates, the Fn-Fx keys now all work the way they are supposed to.

The only remaining issue, is that when i View Installation History in System Update 4, it only shows:

Client Security Solution Office 2007 Patch (I manually installed this)
Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver (I manually installed this)
Fingerprint Software (I manually installed this)
Toolbox (System Update installed this)
Active Protection System (I manually installed this)
UltraNav Driver (I manually installed this)
System Interface Driver (I manually installed this)
Device Experience (System Update installed this)

Yet, i've manually installed practially all the drivers and software available.

Any ideas on why this is?

RESOLVED: System Updater Issue?

Here is the resolution:

1) A fresh install of OS
2) All MS UPdates
3) Install SU4

SU4 now finds, and installs most Lennovo Utilities and Drivers as expected.

Thanks for reading this post and contributing to the collective unconscious which led to resolution!

Highest regards,
