Windows 7 upgrade on t61p: Intel AMT 4.2 driver?

#1 Post by crg7 » Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:06 am

Planning on updating to Windows 7. While searching for drivers, came across this problem. Any suggestions?

The v13.00.000 driver for Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG, 4965AGN is available at

Code: Select all

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73611
Further down, under Additional Information, it states
AMT 4.2 or later must be used for Wireless Intel® AMT capabilities. If AMT 4.1 or earlier version is used, Wi-Fi driver must be version 12.x You have nothing to do with that without using the AMT.
Where are the driver for AMT 4.2 for t61p?
An extensive search did not turn up any.

Thanks

First off, do you use Intel AMT? If not then you have nothing to worry about; go ahead with the latest wireless driver.

Second, I don't think the t61p supports AMT 4.2. I believe AMT 4.x is for Montevina platforms, while the t61p is Santa Rosa (AMT 2.6).

Therefore, if you are going to use AMT, you'll have to use an older wireless driver (ver. 12.x).
