Apple owns up to iMac monitor yellowing, will Lenovo follow?

I think Lenovo needs to make good on the SXGA+ (LG Philips LP150E05-A2) displays on T60 series that dim & yellow over time. I think a complimentary UXGA screen for SXGA+ owners is in order. This needs to be regardless of warranty status of the machine, since many owners did not even realize this was slowly happening as our eyes get fooled over time, until you look at another similar laptop.
I hope Lenovo will do something for us, I don't want to post this kind of thing in some huge website such as The Consumerist, which would cost them a lot of sales, since they otherwise make a good product that I like. Lenovo, like Apple & Toyota, just needs to take care of their current owners when there is a manufacturing defect. (and don't even get me started on the dust embedded in Flexviews problem)

There's an entire laundry list of Thinkpad defects that IBM/Lenovo should have made right over time but did absolutely nothing. So I can't see why they'd start now with the LG Philips LP150E05-A2 displays on T60 series ...

Well, that's just not gonna happen, end of story.
BTW, I still somehow believe that a new CCFL lamp can cure the Flexview yellowing. I'll make a DIY attempt to change mine when it packs up completely and let you all know. Has anyone here done it before?
The situation with IMac is unclear. The article you refer to is very badly written and gives next to no information on the nature of the problem. "Maybe cabling is at fault", "or drivers", "or LCD panel itself". They clearly don't know what they are talking about

Yes and no. I've seen both situations in real life.
When it's purely a polarizer issue, a new CCFL will actually make it worse because the colours will become more prominent with a new lamp. I threw away one such screen after having paid for a backlight swap...
In case of a degraded CCFL, giving out "yellow alarm" a new bulb resolves the issue entirely.
Now, how does one tell with a 100% accuracy which is which, furthermore, how the screen will come out if it's a "combo" issue?
To this one I have no answer at the moment and would love to hear a few sensible comments...

I have a 15" non-widescreen SXGA+ Flexview, the LG Philips LP150E05-A2, and it is both dim & somewhat yellow, do you know any easy fix for it?

@wild_bill:
If the machine is under warranty, send it in.
If it's not, swap the LCD yourself.
That's the best advice I can offer...
