Hello,

I have a Thinkpad T61p, each time I start or reboot, the bluetooth led is turned off. I have to press Fn + F5 (hot key utility) to reactive it.

I want to be always enable. Any ideas?

I think the registry must be modified in order to acomplish this.

You can create .cmd command file and add it to autorun folder or add a string to registry.
From lenovo hotkey manual:
The command line control for 'Wireless switching hot key (Fn+F5)' feature.
It is available to control the wireless radio using the following command;
C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY\TpFnF5.exe [PARAMETER]
The following parameters are defined;

* /WLON, /WLOFF Turn on/off internal 802.11.
* /BTON, /BTOFF Turn on/off internal Bluetooth.
* /WANON, /WANOFF Turn on/off internal WAN.
* /UWBON, /UWBOFF Turn on/off internal UWB.
* /ALLON, /ALLOFF Turn on/off any radio at once.

On my system, it stays on once turned on.
I think deleting Thinkpad HotKey features and Access Connections will help. I don't have them.

Wow! Are all the guys in Russia so smart? It does solve the problem. I created a batch file that runs on startup.

However there is still something wrong with the bluetooth support, the led is off when booting windows xp.

It's indirectly fixed, but I there must be something in the registry that shutdowns the bluetooth support each time.

Thanks!!

tporter thanks for the hint to manually turn on and off the soft keys

When I first upgraded to Win8 Pro the [Fn] key and hotkeys worked. Then Microsoft sent an update and I have not been able to get the on screen display (OSD) to work nor turn on or off any of the wireless radios.

Just downloaded the Win8.1 PRO and OSD still did not work, however after searching around for TpFnF5.exe, I used the batch file you suggested.

BTW the latest driver download for WIN8 are puts the files in a different location, C:\DRIVERS\HOTKEY\OSD

Thanks again
