External speakers for T60P

What is a good option for external speakers for a T60P? Are there other solutions hecides plugging in stereo speakers to the headphone jack?

On another note, we have an old Mac with its two spherical clear plastic speakers coming with a seemingly proprietary plug. Is there an adapter that would allow me to at least temporarily use these Mac speakers with the Thinkpad headphone jack?

Thanks,

Taichi

If they are the Harmon Kardon sound sticks they should be USB...just plug them into the laptops USB port.

Unfortunately no Harmon Kardon.

This is a really old dual gig G4, with spherical, Lucite looking speakers that terminate in a little mini plug, but it's not a miniplug that fits the headphone jack of the t60P. It's one of Steve Jobs idiosyncratic, proprietary whimsies. Like sealed computing devices where you can't replace your own battery

Anyone have any suggestions on good external speakers for the T60P?

Try the Logitech V10 or V20 speakers.

The options are really limitless. The question is whether you are looking for

1) Portable USB speakers that require no external power
2) A small set of stereo (2.0) speakers that connect to the line-out jack, and require external power, but are still compact enough to carry around
3) A fair-priced 2.1 system (with a subwoofer) for that extra oomph
4) Professional/audiophile quality speakers

Being in a tight place financially I guess any suggestions as to the best compromise between price/performance that any of you gents recommend would be appreciated!

I suppose most of you know about SRS Sandbox. That will help with any option. It even enhanced the sound on the T60P's tinny speakers.

Thanks,
