t60 backlight

Hi all:

I have this T60 is turning off the backlight randomly. It's also having some pinkish color when is turned on. I guess the backlight is going. Do you know where I can find a replacement for this? I see a lot on ebay for xga but mine is a sxga. Are they the same?

You will get different opinions, but I have found that backlight replacements are difficult and usually not satisfactory. You need to disassemble the panel and do some delicate soldering. It is usually done in a clean room, because any dust in the air becomes spots on the screen. Also, the generally available tubes are usually about 1mm too short, so you get dark areas at the lower corners. SXGA+ and XGA backlights are the same, to answer your original question.
