flash card options on T61

Hi,
I would like to expand my T61 to house a flash card (SD/CF or similar) for backup of just my important files.
Can somebody explain what options I have as the T61 doesn't seem to have a dedicated SD slot like for example on the X61s. What adapters would I need and how well do they work? Any known limitations?

Any help on this would be much apreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Best regards,
G.

I use a PCMCIA SD card reader for my R60. It'll probably cost you $20 on eBay. Mine's a Sandisk and sits flush the side of the case. They do make ExpressCard card readers as well if you prefer to go that way. Mine works fine and I'm not aware of any limitations.

Thanks for your advice Fred.

What is the difference between the PCMCIA that you mention and ExpressCard?
Do they both fit natively into the available slot?
Maybe performance differences?

Thanks again for your advice.

Best regards.

For practical purposes there's little difference. Since the T61 has both slots, either should fit, but I'd get a ExpressCard54 if you go that way as it fills the slot as opposed to 34, which does not. For reading cards there shouldn't be any trouble.
