I am currently trying to install a new hard drive into my T60 and a fresh XP install. I have formatted the drive to NFTS. Every time I try to boot from the CD with XP, it starts to boot and goes through load all kinds of files boot it gets to a point that it looks for the hard drive and it doesn't see it. A message comes up that says
Set up did not find any hard drives installed on your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are power on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or set up program.
Is there a manufacturer supplied diagnostic or set up program
Installing a new harddrive and A fresh XP install
Re: Installing a new harddrive and A fresh XP install
This has happened to me before. Make sure you have the drive in 'compatibility mode' in BIOS, during XP installation.
