I have a T60. The original hard drive wont boot. I get the screen that says windows has encountered and unexpected error and then if i want to start with the last known good configuration and when i hit that it goes back through the windows is starting screen and then back to the last known good configuration screen.
I took the drive out and scanned it with my anti virus, with sophos anti root kit, with spybot, malware bytes and adaware.
Adaware made the good computer that I was scanning it with crash
Is there away I scan the bad drive with a good computer and get whatever is causing it to crash out... short of reformatting the drive and starting over?

look in the bios and make sure the drive is set to compatibility mode instead of ahci.
