T60p beep code - help!

I've got an 8743-CTO T60p...T7200 (I think), 2 2GB RAM modules, running Vista Ultimate. Last week the computer froze on me (a freeze, not a BSOD) and now will not boot. It's giving me a 1-4-1-1 beep code, no video whatsoever.

I couldn't find the beep code listed on the Lenovo site, but did find the code listed on a table of PhoenixBIOS beep codes, indicating a RAM issue. I'm not certain the computer has a Phoenix BIOS, but I think it does?

Anybody have any help as to what this might be? I've torn the thing apart, down to the motherboard, and re-seated everything. I've tried to fire it off using only one of the 2GB RAM modules, trying both individually in each of the two slots. Tried it on AC and on battery. With the HDD in and removed. In all cases I get the same result.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer, even if it's just to verify the BIOS and beep code.

I'm not sure what that beep code is for as well, but try removing both memory modules and then power up the system. You should get the 1-3-3-1 beep code. If not, then there's something wrong other than your memory. In that case, I would remove everything that plugs into a socket (hard drive, PCI Express card, bluetooth, PCMCIA, Ultrabay, USB, etc.) and see if that changes anything.

I had a similar problem with my ex T42: black screen, but do not recall the series of beeps I was getting. Problem was caused by missing Ubuntu video driver and got solved by replacing the CMOS battery and no more Ubuntu. Hope it helps.
