Battery, Power Manager or MB problem?

Lately, once in a while the power manager gauge in the taskbar stays green, but goes blank and then Windows locks up. Sometimes everything locks up and the cursor it stuck too; but mostly the cursor moves but everything else is stuck. A pop-up that I've never seen otherwise, appears at the bottom left saying windows isn't responding and gives the option of ending the process tree. But of course, I can't click on anything.
The battery is 4 years old with around 375 cycles, so I'm not ruling it out as a problem. But if it's not, I'd like to keep using it until it completely dies. Running Win 7.
Would appreciate any advice.

Well it happened again, this time without the battery installed. My wireless, while staying connected, stopped working and then it locked up. The box at the bottom appeared and said there was a problem with the application. I forgot to add in the first post that I previously tried completely uninstalling Power Manager with revo uninstaller and then reinstalling, but that didn't help.
Btw, it usually happens randomly after 15-30+ min after starting/restarting.
I'm going to leave Power Manager uninstalled this time to see if it's the problem.

You may want to check the temperatures of your laptop, using e.g. NHC or TP Fan Control.
The thermal paste between CPU and cooler is probably 'worn out' after these years and replacing it with Arctic Silver 5 might cure the problem.

Well, looks like it's probably the hard drive. A few weeks ago, HD Tune gave a Smart status warning. Tested with System Toolbox and everything was fine.
Ran the Bios hdd test now and it gave a read error. Ran System Toolbox again, and it's giving an Error from the short Smart Test. So time to back up and RMA.

The heatsink/fan was just replaced last week due to high gpu temps.
