No. I was aware of the Seagate for some time. This is what I'm referring to:

Looks interesting. I can only assume it's backwards compatible.

Would it work? It seems to work as a blu - ray player, but I thought the T60's only had PATA DVD drive slots and not SATA.
Or am I wrong?

Similar predicament for my T61. Lots of good advise.

I am myself debating between.. 500GB WD Scorpio Blue 5400 / 500GB Hitachi 7200 / 640 GB+ WD ...??

A place to figure out your best HDD space economics :)

http://www.diskcompare.com (Hope it helps) Great price $/GB & GB/$ numbers from lowest prices on all stores. Great information mashup.

IF you do hard research and listen to people WD and Hitachi are MUCH more reliable than Seagate. I cant speak to the hybrid drive but if their HDDs are of the same caliber then you need to explore other hybrids. The Hitachi is far the choice among most people looking for a HDD upgrade.

It is true that Samsung, WD and Seagate came late to the 2.5 inch party. So there are comparatively fewer long term track record with these than Hitachi, Fujitsu and Toshiba.

Personally I have seen few user comments on Seagate 2.5 inch other than what you said and George's positive comments on this forum. I have a new 250GB Seagate in use and it is working fine so far.
