#1 Post by DAH » Mon May 24, 2010 6:40 pm

I'm thinking of upgrading my hard drive to a western digital Model WD10TPVT 1TB hard drive anyone tried this on a T60p?

Thanks

I don't think it will fit. The one you're looking at is 12.5mm thick whereas most laptop drives are 9.5mm.

There are a couple of users that claim to have added one to a T61 (one as in a 650 GB 12.5 mm). That is why I am asking about the T60p, it would depend on how the 1 TB drive is made I believe. If it is a uniform 12.5 mm thick it will not fit :( but if the sides are 9 mm and it buldges over the platter it may work. Hince the question..... Or how much did they change the harddrive bay between the T60p and the T61, does it use the same rubber mounting strips as the T60p?

Thanks

I am pretty sure it is a three platter design. They probably made it for the external enclosures. It will not fit in T60/T60p. May be it fits in the W series bays.

The guy also said it is a 5200rpm and works better than a 5400rpm.

T2x and A3x can take 12.7mm drives but not SATA.
