LCD distorted from the bottom quarter

Hi,

I have a Thinkpad T60 notebook, recently the LCD goes suddenly to vertically lined lines then to black (in the bottom quarter of the screen). If I shake or rotate the screen somehow the picture goes well and so on.

Where is the problem may be? in the LCD cable or in the LCD panel itself?

Thanks

I think it might be the LCD.

Try pressing the sides of the screen and see if the lines go away, that would be an indicator that it's probably the LCD itself.

The lines go away if I press the back of the LCD (from where the LCD cable connected to LCD) but not when pressing the sides of LCD.

May it be an indicator for cable problem? (I hope so :) )

In that case you should just open the screen and reseat the cable.

Hopefully that will take care of the problem.
