Verbatim expresscard SSD VS. Lenovo T60

#1 Post by enos76 » Sat Jun 05, 2010 2:28 am

I bought this Verbatim 16Gb SSD with expresscard interface:

Nice peice of hardware. Very fast reads, resonable writes, zero access time... too pity it won't work properly with my T60 8744-HCG (ICH7).
In Windows I get regular blue screens, in Linux it's dead slow and it slows down even the mouse cursor. Bootable diagnostic programs just spit out bad sectors.

On a recent Acer notebook it works smoothly and flawlessly though. I had my Lenovo checked and I was said that expresscard slot's fine. I contacted both Verbatim and Lenovo, who kindly replied but were of no practical help.

Therefore here is the verdict:
Verbatim's expresscard SSD is not compatible with the IBM/Lenovo T60 notebook.

Hope I helped someone save a few bucks.

Bye
