Upgrade T60 XGA to SXGA+

I would like to upgrade my T60 1951-46U to an SXGA+ screen. Could I get some recomendations as to which is the right one to use. I realise that I can't have an IPS but if there are better ones to use I would apprecieate knowing.
Also what do you thing about getting one off eBay? I have read on this forum of someone buying a screen for a T60, only to find out when he got it that it required an EDID update. I am sure my best source would be here on the forum, but it's not an item that one sees advertised to often, if ever. Of course Lenovo would have one, but I don't have the kind of money to spend that they would require me to pay!
Just as a matter of interest, what's the difference between SXGA and SXGA+?

SXGA = 1280x1024
SXGA+ = 1400x1050
SXGA is hardly (if at all) available in a 14.1" screen. Usually reserved for 17" and 19" LCDs.
If you get an SXGA+ LCD on eBay, make darned sure it's an official IBM/Lenovo approved screen with IBM/Lenovo part number or FRU on it.
Be wary of the ubiquitous "guaranteed compatible with" trap.

The 1280X1024 are not common now, because they are 5:4 aspect ratio. Other non-wide screens are 4:3. The IBM/Lenovo branded screens tend to be better than "compatible" screens, and my preference is for the ones made by Toshiba (TMD).

I had the BOE-Hydis, 13N7061, in my R60. I thought it was fairly decent. Not a flexview, but not bad.

Hi thanks for the replies. There is one on eBay right now. It would be shipping from Malaysia, item 370385871809 it has a FRU # 42T0369 but the price with shipping is $210 US. Is that not a bit steep?
Edit: Maybe not so pricy, just found another one; Used for $273.88 shipped!

I have a 14.1" SXGA+ TMD display on my T60 but it has very poor vertical angles, I always have to move the lid for a better view.

That's true of all the 14" screens. You'd need to bump up to the 15" SXGA+ or UXGA to get the angles.

If I were you, I would sell your current T60 and buy another one with SXGA+ already installed. Or swap with another forum members.

Of course the seller made a mistake. This is an SXGA+ panel, with 1400x1050 resolution.
There was a 13.7" SXGA 1280x1024 panel for the 770X and 770Z Thinkpads, and that's the only laptop SXGA panel ever made. For desktop LCDs, SXGA panels have been used in 16.1", 17" and 19" monitors.

The problem with that is my T60 is in Pristine condition. Finding someone with similar T60 with SXGA+ AND willing to swap!! I think I will have to take some time and wait for someone to "part out" a T60 here on the forum.
