T60 Major power control issues

Hi folks,
I have T60 -1945 laptop in standard config except upgraded hdd (500 gb) and memory (2+1 Gb) which recently started to drive me nuts because of power issues.

It won't turn off and restars instead plus sleep and hibernate modes don't work (screen goes black followed by ocasional beeping and PC never wakes up). I know that it is pretty common general problem and I did extensive search here and in Google trying numerous solutions but nothing helps.
I have played with BIOS settings (2.26) a lot but again in vain. Power manager tuning and other stuff doesn't help.

powercfg -ENERGY gives me report saying that USB Bluetooth device (internal) prevents system from sleeping but disabling BT both in WIN 7 and BIOS changes nothing. I have tried to install WIN 7 and XP several times but symptoms are stable.
Actually it started after I installed Hackintosh few moths ago and upgraded memory from 2 Gb to 3.. swapping memory modules gives nothing.. Before that everything worked fine..

I will greatly appreciate if you could give me the direction to dig for solving the problem..
Thanks,
Anton

Run a memory diagnostic, like PC-Doctor. In fact run PC-doctor tests against all functions of the machine, concentrating on RAM.

What happens if you turn off wireless using the switch on the front of the machine?

Unfortunately it doesn't change anything...

Well, you're running out of options. If it were me I would remove the bluetooth module to see what happens. Power management can't complain about something that isn't there. You'll have to remove the LCD bezel to get at it, at least the bottom of the bezel. It is held on by screws and double sided tape. Hard to get off so take your time so you don't break it.
