t60p memory limitation? it's a miracle!

don't ask me how it happened, but I restored my t60p back to factory and after the ths sp1 update I rebooted to find all 4 GBs of ram read on my systems window.

Vista (and possibly even XP with SP3) can correctly display the total amount of memory installed. However, the remaining RAM will still be unusable. Check to see how much free/used/total RAM is displayed in the Task/Process Manager.

True, true. The BIOS summary page will show 4.0GB of RAM, too. However, it's the same story, nothing (currently known) will let you access memory over 3.0GB on a T60/R60/Z61x machine. Of course with 4GB of RAM (matched sized memory sticks), you do get the slight performance boost from dual channel memory mode.

T60/61 memory limitatins sticky needs some update. Every once in a while there are "memory miracles" with these machines... :)
