DVDRW Replancment, will UJ-832 wil work?

Any drive will work as long as it is an ultrabay slim drive.

I think what hunter means to say is Thinkpads use a proprietary connector. An off the shelf drive won't work. You'd need a ThinkPad slim drive for it to work, but they're fairly widely available on ebay.

Yes, but i can`t find photo of connector that uj832. So 842/852 and other 8x2 are compatybile but 832 is not in list.

When in doubt, buy a drive with an IBM/Lenovo P/N or FRU on it.

Ultrabay Slim models from the T4x and R5x will also work (but the bezels are slightly angled).

I have another question. DVD-RW ultra slim 9,5mm for T60 (and other T6x /T4x) will work on R5x / R6x series?

Yes, it will work, but the bezels won't quiet line up. There will also be a gap on the R5x machines since they use a taller 12.7mm drive.
