Any drive will work as long as it is an ultrabay slim drive.

I think what hunter means to say is Thinkpads use a proprietary connector. An off the shelf drive won't work. You'd need a ThinkPad slim drive for it to work, but they're fairly widely available on ebay.

When in doubt, buy a drive with an IBM/Lenovo P/N or FRU on it.
Here's an UJ832 connector picture: http://images.gittigidiyor.com/2074/Mat ... 7147_2.jpg
This one has a picture of the connector: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Lenovo-T60-T61- ... 0459911866
This one shows P/N and FRU: http://cgi.ebay.com/DVDRW-Drive-IBM-T60 ... 0664489520

Ultrabay Slim models from the T4x and R5x will also work (but the bezels are slightly angled).

If you want to watch movies from other Regions, read the second posting (by Slysoft) here: http://club.myce.com/f88/matshita-uj-812-a-101267/

I have another question. DVD-RW ultra slim 9,5mm for T60 (and other T6x /T4x) will work on R5x / R6x series?

Yes, it will work, but the bezels won't quiet line up. There will also be a gap on the R5x machines since they use a taller 12.7mm drive.
