The screens on X6x tablets are AFFS, which was derived from IPS, and yes, these get yellowish on occasion...

Does it mean that they don't all turn yellowish? Maybe some faulty series?

No, not all of them turn yellowish.
The only ones which are almost guaranteed - in my experience - to start going yellow are LG Phillips 15" SXGA+ seen in T4x/R5x and T60 units. Everything else is luck of the draw, and I've had all of them in quantities.

Thanks, guess that x61 tablet was unlucky then, will see if I can get Lenovo to listen when they fix the "gatling sounding" fan! Do you know if people have had them replaced in the past?

Replaced what in the past?
If you're referring to the screens, I had them replaced under warranty for a variety of issues, including dust spots, hair particles and dimness.

Yes, the screens. Good to hear, I guess mine would qualify for dimness, I suppose dimness and "yellowishness" come in pair

Brand new, genuine IBM-branded BOE-Hydis UXGA screens can be purchased here. I just purchased one about two weeks ago and am extremely pleased. The price is reasonable and it arrived from Taiwan within about 3-4 days. It is nice and bright--a remarkable improvement! Based on my experience, I'd definitely recommend this supplier.geohsia wrote:Should I pick up a T60p chassis and then just upgrade it to a BOE-Hydis LCD? Not sure where I can even get one of those.
