Recently purchased a t60 thinkpad, in excellent shape incl the keyboard.
However in my opinion, the keyboard on the t42/ t40 thinkpad has a much better feel to it.
I saw there is some type of keyboard driver that allows you to adjust sensitivity of the keys.
But that is for os vista?
Xp pro is installed. I don't like the feel of this keyboard, too firm or the pitch (too much distance for key to travel) bothers my wrist though externally keyboard + laptop in excellent shape.
My only option is to find a keyboard replacement for this and replace it, correct?
Please let me know, thank you.

Re: t60 keyboard
That is correct. NMB keyboards are considered to be the best, but you'll need to remove yours to see what FRU number is on the bottom. Tell us what it is and then a recommendation can be made. Also, what is the machine type/model number from the sticker on the bottom of the machine. It is a 7 digit alpha-numeric like 2367-3CU.
Re: t60 keyboard
My T60p ALPS keyboard has ~1.2 times more travel distance than my T42p NMB one, however, ALPS feels more solid than NMB. IMO, for slow typing ALPS is better, but for fast typing - NMB is definitely the leader.

Re: t60 keyboard
Here is a thread from awhile ago comparing the three T60 keyboards:
