fn hotkeys with external keyboard?

Hey guys.

I've googled a bit but I can't find anything specific. How does one activate bluetooth, wifi and other features using an external keyboard?

Do I need to install the Thinkvantage keyboard customiser to do this?

Apparently I can script something in Autohotkeys but I'd rather see if there's a native approach first.

Your best bet would be to go ahead and install the keyboard customizer. It has all the options for what you are looking for, and you can customize just about anything on the keyboard. It is by far the simplest way to go about doing that.

The ThinkPad Keyboard Customizer does most of this.

The first tab of it is For Use with ThinkPad Keyboard but the second is For Use with External Keyboard. There is a pre-set list of actions you can assign to keys, including turning wireless off and on, accessing the ThinkPad button, etc., the things the Fn +F ? keys do, but I don't see Bluetooth on the list. But perhaps the options for your T60 would be different from my T42.

Using the marvelous search function here, I find it appears if you have both wireless and Bluetooth active (I don't), the Fn + F5 key combo should bring up a menu where you can choose which to turn off or on, and that is the combo you can reassign when using an external keyboard to something like [left control] + F5 using the Keyboard Customizer Utility.

And I found you can also disable it on the fly from the ThinkVantage Productivity Center.
