T60P security chip

Hi

I am about to buy an T60p that has a reported security chip error.

Well, the company that I'm buying from is an auction site that buys computers from companys that has gone out of buissness or is selling out old computers, I have bought many Thinkpads from them before and there is no funny buissness but if your lucky you could end up with an bargin.

And right now they are selling a batch of different T60 computers and among those there is one that they are selling as faulty for 400SEK = $55. The reason for this price is that they say that the error beep indicates (Security chip) systemboard.

Now to my question... I know that this company only reinstal windows on the computer and don't try to mend it, if it's faulty they just remove the HDD and sell it as faulty, SO this security chip problem... is it fixable?

I have googled and realized that you can reset the security chip but do you think that can save this computer or am I about to buy an great black brick?

Thanks in advance.

Oh well... If I can't get it running i'll strip it for parts and sell it of in pieces.
