Rescue and Recover (RnR) 4.21 Randomly stops working on T60

Hello alll,

I have a T60 which is my daily workhorse computer for writing my PhD thesis. In addition to Mozy back up of data files, I have consistently used RnR 4.21 to do a full system backup to external hard drive. Twice I have had to do a full system recovery from this backup RnR backup, and it saved my bacon!

Today RnR 4.21 for XP 32 SP3 has randomly started crashing on me. Repeated reinstallation attempts of RnR do not fix the problem. I can find no other obvious changes my system has experienced, other than undergoing a full virus scan earlier this week and finding nothing.

Has anyone else experienced the same and managed a workaround?

Are there any error messages from R&R when it fails ?
Any error entries in the Event logs (either System or Application) ?

Certainly do!

Can I attach images/files to my posts? I have an error screencap, and the window log file it sent to MSoft about the failure.

The error:

rrservice.exe - Application Error

The instruction at " 0x004018ff" referenced memory at "0x00000000" cannot be "read".
