Lcd panel malfunction Need help :)

I just replaced the panel on my t61 with a "guarantied" compatible panel from Lcds4less, http://www.lcds4less.co.uk/LG_Philips-l ... (B7).shtml
I followed instructions to the letter but when I turn the tp on, the new panel lights up white but nothing else happens.
The tp works as I am writing this on it, docked and connected to an external monitor.
Before I send the panel back I'd like any input on what could be the cause?
The old panel was wxga and the new one is wxga+ but that shouldn't be a problem as far as I can gather from post in here and in other forums..
argh.. /cry for help
EDIT: As I had a hard time connecting the display-cable I guess I should play a bit with it before posting here :) will try a few things and post back

Most likely the EDID chip is missing on that screen.
"Guaranteed compatible" only means that it will fit sizewise.
Return it for a REAL LCD with IBM/Lenovo P/N and/or FRU.
Anything else will not work.
Plenty of posts about this in the T6x forum!

White screen usually means the cable isn't plugged in all the way behind the panel

The shop also sells some panels with original FRU and after corresponding back and forth for several months, the seller assured me that the panel I ordered would be similar in every way possible to the FRU that I asked for. WIll try to fiddle the cable when I am done working and get back to you :)

succes :)
Turned out that it indeed WAS the cable on the back causing troubles :)
I must have been to nerveous to apply enough force when plugging it in... better safe than sorry though, gonna have to replace the lcd bezel soon as it turned out to be VERY easily breakable...
Either way, I am very happy with my wxga to wxga+ upgrade using this 70£ panel from LCDs4less.
It's too early still for me to determine if the colors and greys live up to the old panel but so far I am satisfied.
As always, thanks for any and all advice

What does a blue screen mean? (And I don't mean the BSOD ;) I've had it happen to me - all of a sudden LCD went blue and wouldn't return to normal until I put the laptop in standby and resumed.

Panel still works satisfactory, seeing a bit of lightleakage at the bottom, but nothing serious :)
