Weird acting of user input devices - touchpad and trackpoint

Hi there,
I have T60 (2623) for a couple of years now, but the other day mouse input devices - touchpad and trackpoint - started to behave very strange. Thing is that I always used trackpoint and touchpad was always disabled fro the bios. That other day trackpoint just stopped working showing that little scrollbar under the mouse pointer (which shows up when middle button is pressed and scrolling feature is on). Restarting computer helps but only for a little while until the trackpoint goes down again. Scrolling feature stopped working at all.
I enabled touchpad so I could use mouse pointer without external mouse, but it seems it fails to work correctly too. Buttons does not work all the time, so double clicking is a pain. The funny thing about all this is that windows seems not to get internal events on all those clicks and somehow, if i use trackpoint/touchpad for a little, it even manages to "hide" external mouse events, so even with external mouse clicking is impossible. I need to use Alt+tab to switch to other window to use the mouse again.
This is very weird, I thought drivers somehow became faulty, but reinstalling the whole system did not helped at all, so it must be some very strange hardware issue.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
