GREAT SERVICE - top notch work done by AQSTECH (see top)

#1 Post by ausmike » Sat Sep 04, 2010 7:37 am

This story begins with my nephew (@college IT major!!) decided to run the BIOS UPDATE in his (my Old) T60p machine.................and during that UPDATE PROCESS - it seems the windows 7 decided to 'freeze up' ,,,, and left him NO OPTION but to HOLD DOWN the power button till it shutdown.

That’s where things got very interesting and scary for him (his words) After trying to REBOOT and nothing happened ,,,, he tried reading this forum for 'solutions' ....... and then I get an URGENT EMAIL asking for HELP!

So I got in touch with HARRYC and he was kind enough to forward me some software to see if he could 'fix' this issue! Nope nothing worked ...

I canvassed / searched some teckie geeks @ work for solutions..... Seems everyone said " it’s BRICKED" and get new one !

Than i was recommended to seek this FORUM SPONSOR - AQSTECH (see links above = BIOS REPAIR)and spoke to Joe. I was delighted to hear from him - he was very knowledgeable with none of that teckie salesman BS you get from 'geek squad' chaps that DONT KNOW MUCH and like to use big teckie words. Joe was precise and courteous and very helpful suggestions for shipping costs to boot!

Off went the T60P to him; and within hours of receiving it, Joe called & emailed me advising that the LAPTOP BE READY FOR PICKUP/RETURN DELIVERY within a DAY!!! WHAT A SERVICE!!
Not only did I get the laptop BIOS repaired, Joe actually 'cleaned' it also ! It was super nice to see it looking like new. BEST MONEY spent on any repair of a laptop PERIOD!

Since then - i have a very happy college kid/smartass (nephew) and 'laptop runs like a charm' going with TRIPLE BOOT - OSx; WINDOWS 7; LINUX on a single drive and secondary drive = iOs. Envy of rest of the classmates and teachers am told!

THANKS Joe and AQSTECH

Mike, thanks for the feedback on AQSTech. I am sure others will also find that BIOS repair service useful. You had posted (2) other threads on the same topic that I moved out of sight. We don't allow duplicate/cross posting on the forums per the forum rules.

Would you mind telling us what they did (e.g. replace the BIOS chip) and how cheap/expensive it was?

Hiya RBS*;

I spoke with Joe @ AQSTECH but didnt see what WAS actually done - so cant say. I dont care to open up that laptop to check > sorry.

Plus - its more important to ask info; than let the 'experts' do their stuff. And I ddint really have time to do those things myself - eventhough I could !

Costs tor me = Approx $120US + shipping; however I was told it would depend on the 'amount of work involved'. I was charged what was quoted/advised.

As that laptop did have some very 'sensetive data' on the HARD DRIVE (secondary drive was removed); Data Security & Post Recovery Data Integrity was utmost important AND PARAMOUNT.
Since this laptop was used via TRPLE BOOT OS - and had some very complex Data/Volume structures/links with a College Research LAB it was utmost important that the person(s) and company who did the work could be trusted!

Glad to report all things went very well - all aspects of the recovery was very successful. My trust; faith in good, honest and reliable IT STAFF is still intact!

Great work Joe; and thanks for finding Good Value people as Forum Sponsors , Bill & special thanks again to HARRYC.....

note: data security etc was verified - as logs showed that laptop was ONCE ONLY booted to the 'WINDOWS LOGIN" screen once !

......dang still cant spell! ,,,, & nearly a thesis on this l.....ong weekend ; wheres my beer?

I must admit their website seems impressive, they definitely know what they are talking about from the looks of it.

I once needed trace welding services due to a little screwup using a screwdriver as a chip extractor back in the early 80's when I was just a pup!
