T60: No video, no hard drive activity

Hello all! Hoping for some advice on how to troubleshoot an ailing T60.

No obvious reasons that it would quit working (wasn't dropped, no software installed, etc.)

I get no video, the hard drive has very little activity (one or two HDD LED blips every 2 minutes or so). The system keeps trying to read from the DVD drive. I put a Windows 7 restore disk to let it read, and got nothing.

At this point I don't even know how to begin troubleshooting. Help!

Thanks.

Plug in an external LCD or monitor. Do you get a displayed image there?

Plugged in an external monitor and got nothing. Even tried FN + F7 to toggle video between the displays...couldn't get anything to show on either monitor.

Remove all power and battery, remove both sticks of RAM (there may be a stick under the palm rest) and let us know if the system beeps on post.
