Looking for LCD model number of FRU 42T0406

#1 Post by sparta.rising » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:00 pm

I'm looking for the model number of the T61 LCD FRU 42T0406. This is the 220nit LG-Philips 14.1" WXGA+ LCD.

By model number I mean the manufacturer's model number. For instance my 13N7108 is a Samsung LTN141WD-L05.

A lot of sellers list the FRU but say it will only be a compatible LCD, so probably not the 220nit display. I want to try my luck to find a 220nit (if the price isnt astronomically higher).

Thanks!

To answer my own question, it looks like LP141WP1. But there appears to be variation within that model number. I found http://www.screentekinc.com/LG_Philips- ... ml#screens Scroll down a little to that model number. Some are glossy.

According to thinkwiki, the LG-Philips 220nit has a 400:1 contrast ratio and the Samsung 200nit has a 500:1 ratio. So I guess there are trade offs. Any opinions?

Hi,
According to this image, the Thinkwiki page might be wrong - http://i20.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/0c/4f/f8ae_12.JPG - the suffix is TLB7 instead of TLB8. I could only find the TLB8 datasheet ( http://www.pdfsea.com/down/down.php?downid=37836&id=0 ) available on the net, no sign of the TLB7. Ironically, the TLB8 also listed at Thinkwiki is per datasheet listed to have a minimum guaranteed CR of 300:1, no mention of 400:1 being the typical value.

Similarly, I could only find the LTN141WD-L04 datasheet ( http://www.pdfsea.com/down/down.php?downid=37599&id=0 ) which also promises a minimum CR of 300:1 - there are no signs that the CR should differ from the LG, even though we are comparing two LCD panels, of which neither are used, to each other. So nothing's certain yet until some proof is available elsewhere... :)
