I have been trying to learn more just for fun. What is the difference between the two types of structure frames in the 14.1 and 15" T60s?
41V9987/41V9988 and 42R9911/42R9912, I see they take different LCD hinges and keyboard bezels as well as fans in both 950GMA and discrete variations.
What were the differences and why?

THe frame on the 15" machine is about 3/4" wider. The 14.1" screen has smaller hinges than the 15" one, due to the lighter weight of the screen and the way the wireless antenna wires are routed. I don't have a 15" machine open right now to see about the fan. I have one that I need to work on tomorrow or Wednesday, but I never noticed that the fans were different

There are two different types of structure frames for both the 14.1 and 15" machines.
That's where I am confused. The higher partnumbers call for the newer (c2d type) fans, but AFAIK those fans are physically interchangable.
I was hoping the new motherboard/lower half I purchased would have the other style so I could compare.
