Best motherboard/CPU for T60p/T61 transplant

Looking for advice...

I am very interested in creating a T60P UXGA+ hybrid, with T61 motherboard/CPU innards. I've seen other posts that describe this process, so I'm sure it's possible. If I'm going to do it, I want to put the optimum combination of motherboard and CPU in it. Can anyone suggest what that might be? Is a T9500 possible, for instance? If so, what motherboard would work best for it? Also, have the fan, PC slot and modem issues been resolved yet? Any and all advice is very welcome. Thanks!
