T7600G SL9U5 - in a T6x / T6xp?

#1 Post by tomkrishan1 » Sat Oct 09, 2010 10:26 am

hi all

does anybody has experience with a T7600G (SL9U5) installed into a T6X and or T6Xp?

though i know the general fan noise-problems with the t60p line and the general gpu heating problems with the t61p 15.4", and moreover, that mobile overclocking seems only available through the bios, I am curious should there be any tests and/or projects made ... ... maybe through some bios hacks?

the T7600G (SL9U5) was build exclusively for the DELL XPS M1710 for gaming/overclocking purposes until 3.06 GHZ but as this DELL is a heavy 17" with a kindergarten design I rather would see this cpu in a cool T6Xp ... :)

Putting aside for instance the fact that T60p can only be considered cool in a very relativistic world (Regular T60 is much better in this regard), have you considered that perhaps one of the reasons it is more cool than, for instance, said XPS M1710, is because it does not, in fact, have a power hungry and overclocked CPU?

yeah, you`re generally right! :)

i`ve only considered this idea as i was always looking for an cpu and gpu performance increase cause i got really convinced with the t6xp machines in comparison to mostly of all other brands and/or models.

but as i`ve posted formerly my gpu topic related to t61p`s nVidia unsolved issue and discovered today, that there is also this maniac cpu t7600g, this is maybe the final solution for my purposes.
a well equipped and stable t60p with some performance reserves and without the insecurity of a t61p`s FX 570M.

... but again, generally i agree with you

since you already have a t7600 why not try throttlestop (search google for it). some of the t7600 cpus had an unclockable multiplier like the t7600g

i use the t7600g in dynamic mode with throttlestop with a max multiplier of 18x (3 ghz) and it adds quite a bit of pep over the 1.8 ghz processor that my t60 came with.

yeah, your right & thank you for sharing ideas ... i will try it
i`ve just received the t7600 yesterday ...

i only found a thread related to the throttlestop use when it became a problem with the energy management of a dell system:

did you experienced something similar? ... or did you also made some stress and/or long run test with your t7600g? ... what about the heating ... general stability ... ? ...
